The original door handles and fixtures had been covered with many coats of paint over the years. We have stripped them back to their original beautiful brass finish. The rod for opening the window above the front door is dated June 6, 1898. We also found a 1922 Threepence coin which had been posted into one of the door locks, probably by a child.
